Chris Liberati-Conant is running for Columbia County District Attorney.

Chris Liberati-Conant is an experienced attorney, having worked as NYS's Assistant Solicitor General and an Assistant Attorney General, as well as a public defender and clerk for the Court of Appeals. He is the attorney who defended NYS's Reproductive Health Act in federal court. Chris cares about our community and is active in his local volunteer fire department. Chris is committed to creating a fairer, more just, criminal justice system, wants to combat the opioid epidemic, and create mental health and veteran courts. He's committed to making Columbia County safer.

Brian Herman has served 14 years as a judge in Columbia County, including Copake Town Justice for eight years and six years as the Hudson City Court Judge. He has also served as an acting Albany City Court Judge, Troy City Court Judge, and Kingston City Court Judge. Brian was elected President of the Columbia County Magistrate’s Association – the organization of Judges in Columbia County – twice.
He has provided pro-bono work for many not-for-profit organizations in Columbia County, including AnimalKind, the Recovery Kitchen, Copake Grange, and the Hudson Interfaith Counsel, as well as provided free legal representation to many of our neighbors in need. Brian has the necessary experience and believes in compassion, honesty, fairness, and integrity.

Michael C. Howard was born and raised in Columbia County, attended Hudson High School, Davidson College, and Brooklyn Law School.
He has spent his career representing the underprivileged and downtrodden, providing them with hope and guidance.
His vision for the future of our Columbia County Court system includes:
1) Expanding substance abuse treatment court,
2) Establishing a mental health court,
3) Creating a veteran’s court, and
4) Instituting a youth court to address young people’s needs.
