Hennige committed to the town of Claverack

To the editor:

Tracy Hennige is running for the Claverack Town Board because she believes that a transparent town government, working with and for the community, can solve real problems for people. In her 13-year career as an attorney in the public service sector, Tracy has been an advocate for health care equity. While working for the NY State Department of Health she has defended legal challenges to policies aimed at protecting nursing home residents. She has also fought to preserve the state's clean drinking water standards. In her previous position with the NY State Department of Financial Services, Tracy worked to ensure that there were

adequate health insurance care provider networks, and on the New York State rollout of the Affordable Care Act. Prior to her legal career, Tracy worked in private sector project management positions.

Tracy has exhibited the ability to create solutions to complex problems in her current and previous roles. She intends to address our lack of infrastructure and affordable workforce housing that has been a barrier to our town's economic development and long-term health. Tracy understands the importance of preserving what we love about our town's history, our agricultural community and its open space, and she is committed to do the work to make Claverack a place where our economy, our environment, and our quality of life are sustainable for generations to come.

I am voting for Tracy because she is committed to the town of Claverack, and she understands how good government can work for us.
