CLAVERACK, NY – The Claverack Democratic Committee proudly endorsed its Democratic slate of candidates at its Quarterly Meeting on April 14. President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, State Senator Michelle Hinchey (SD41), and State Assemblymember Didi Barrett (AD106) were all unanimously endorsed for re-election. In addition, the Claverack Democrats were honored to endorse Josh Riley for Congress (NY19).
Stephanie Sussman, Claverack Town Chair, said, “The Claverack Democrats are fired up to help our slate of Democratic candidates win in November, including taking back control of the House.” She added, “When our Democratic candidates are elected, they will protect the freedoms we have – our reproductive rights, civil rights, voting rights, and marriage equality – and make healthcare more accessible and affordable for all. They understand that agriculture is vital to both our district and the country and will fight to protect our environment now for future generations to thrive.”
Josh Riley’s values and pro-democracy campaign platform will continue to build on the successes of the Biden/Harris Administration. Unlike his opponent, Josh takes no money from PACs and, when elected, will fight for campaign finance reform, keeping corporate money out of our elections. Josh will also work to fix our broken immigration system, allowing small farms to have greater access to labor.

Assemblymember Barrett has always focused on fighting for what matters to Hudson Valley communities, including protecting the Hudson River, standing up for reproductive freedom, fighting Lyme and other tick-borne infections, combating our lack of affordable housing, and keeping costs down for our families.

I look forward to continuing to deliver results for my friends and neighbors in the Town of Claverack and all my constituents in the 106th Assembly District.”
Senator Hinchey is an advocate for our upstate communities, making sure our issues are reflected at the table, including protecting reproductive rights and expanding healthcare, making life more affordable, addressing the climate crisis, bolstering infrastructure and broadband, strengthening our farms and food supply, and supporting public safety efforts and education.
